My Party Worm

You're Already Protected from the MyParty Worm!

NuNet's Automatic Anti-Virus E-mail Scanning Service is now catching this worm for ALL customers, but to protect yourself from any other existing or new viruses in the future you should sign-up for full time E-mail virus scanning.

Because of the rapid spread and nastiness of this virus, NuNet has initiated virus scanning for ALL customers. As a NuNet customer, in most cases, you don't have to do anything right now to protect yourself from this new worm. (see below if by chance you already received it before it was discovered)

Latest Email Virus Update from NuNet

W32.Myparty@mm is a mass-mailing email worm. The worm arrives via email with the following characteristics:

Subject: new photos from my party!
Body:
Hello!

My party... It was absolutely amazing!
I have attached my web page with new photos!
If you can please make color prints of my photos. Thanks!

Attachment name: www.myparty.yahoo.com

The worm emails everyone in the Windows Address Book and by searching for email addresses in Outlook Express inboxes and folders.

In addition, the worm sends a message to the author allowing him to track the worm.

Finally, the worm may launch your web browser to http://www.disney.com if the filename is 'access' with any extension.

If You Did Receive This Worm

Despite the rapid action by NuNet to stop this worm, this virus may have been sent to some customers before it was discovered and action taken. If you did receive the infected email, DO NOT open the attachment, delete it immediately.

In cases where the virus-bearing email is caught by our scanning service, we are notifying both the sender and the receiver that a virus was sent to them.

That message will look something like this and is safe to open:
